27 Battery-powered tail docker The cordless tail docker allows for flexible working in the barn and reaches an operating temperature of 700 °C in a flash, which is gentle on the animals and enables efficient work. Unlike conventional cordless hot cutters, which heat continuously, this device only consumes power during the tail-docking process. As a result, a single battery charge lasts the entire working day. • with battery operation – no need for sockets or annoying cables, can be used anywhere in the stable • the powerful 2 x 27 Ah batteries heat the cutting blade in a fraction of a second, so the device is immediately ready for use • the user applies downward pressure on the blade with the piglet’s tail – the blade heats up in a flash to approx. 700 °C and cuts off the tail cleanly and without bleeding • as soon as the tail is cut, the heating stops and no energy is consumed • the sophisticated technology enables 800–1,200 tail-docking operations on a single battery charge • with a count function and battery indicator • LED indicator to prevent accidental activation • robust and handy stainless steel design, ideally suitable for practical use • the device can be placed on a stable surface (e.g. using the holder), leaving the user with both hands free, which enables fast and precise work • incl. adjustable spacer for uniform tail length • supplied blade made of heat-resistant, special stainless steel • charger included Please take account of country-specific legal regulations! The piglets‘ tails are shortened to around ⅔ of their original length during the first days of life. This means that the tip of the tail becomes more innervated and the piglets will defend themselves against being bitten by other animals. The heat of the blade means that the wounds produced are sealed immediately (cauterisation) and this drastically reduces the risk of infection.
