2 The invention of the first electrically operated hair clip- pers in 1912 precipitated another milestone in the suc- cess story of Aesculap. The product range of clippers and clipping heads including accessories has continued to be expanded over the decades, and Aesculap Suhl GmbH now makes it all. Aesculap clippers are made using cutting-edge, compu- ter-aided machinery. As a premium brand in clippers and grooming, Aesculap is very conscious of their responsi- bility to professional and private users when it comes to maintaining high quality standards. Today, Aesculap clippers can be found in around 80 % of professional dog grooming salons and in more than 90 % of all vete- rinary practices in Germany. Aesculap has won awards from independent institutes such as the „German Design Award“ and „Plus X Award“, demon- strating that they are also accomplished and professional designers. Their strategic collaboration with Albert Kerbl GmbH is another milestone in Aesculap‘s development. In 2017 Kerbl, a market-leading group of companies in the field of animal supplies, took over the exclusive global distri- bution and logistics of the products, which are presen- ted on the following pages. The owner-managed family business, based in Buch- bach, Bavaria, has more than 30 years‘ experience in the development, production and distribution of animal supplies. Clippers and grooming products are one of Kerbl‘s core areas. The alliance between Aesculap and Kerbl in this sector is paving the way for a new growth spurt for the Aes- culap brand. We will work together on developing new products for all kinds of user groups, such as farmers, veterinarians, dog groomers, horse owners etc., and so ensure the range stays up to date and future-proof.
