We deliberately avoid the use of chrome salts in the leather tanning process. This enables us to guarantee the safety of these products for our customers and protect the environment. This is because chrome salts can enter the environment via waste water during the tanning process and pollute soil and water. Large-scale product recalls due to harmful substances in leather occur time and again in the retail sector. This is because chromium VI, which is harmful to health, can form in chrome-tanned leather if it is stored incorrectly or exposed to UV radiation. By dispensing with chrome tanning, we exclude the formation of this harmful substance from the outset and supply safe products. Look out for our "Chrome-free tanning" labelling and put your trust in products that offer safety for people and the environment.
