The operating principle: The live fence tape forms an insurmountable barrier for all kinds of slugs in the home garden. The fence tape has two parallel, electrically conductive contact strips. If the slug makes a connection between the two contact strips when trying to cross the fence strip, a small current flows for a short time. Due to the low fence voltage of 9 Volts (block battery), the slugs do not suffer any damage, but only feel an unpleasant tingling sensation and are immediately induced to turn around. The self-adhesive fence tape can be easily and permanently attached to almost all types of surfaces (wood, metal, plastic, stone, concrete) and can be shortened if necessary. The fence tape can easily be extended with an optional 10 m fence tape (291128) or 20 m fence tape (291129), as well as the fence tape connectors (291127). No prior knowledge is required to connect the fence tapes to the power unit. The fence tape can be connected and supplied with power with the help of the contact clip, which is connected to the power unit. Two control LEDs enable safe monitoring of the battery status and the power supply. By means of bed connectors (accessory: 291126), multiple beds can also be operated with a single power unit. 6 FAQs I don't have raised beds. Can I still use SnailStop? Of course! You can stick the fence tape onto a bed border near the ground or create a simple wooden frame around your vegetables, to which you stick the fence tape. How long does the battery last? Thanks to the innovative pulse control, the battery lasts an entire slug season! Can I extend the fence tape? Certainly! You can extend the fence to suit your needs. All you need is an additional roll of fence tape (10 m or 20 m, Art. 291128, 291129) and a fence tape connector (Art. 291127) How long can the fence be, at most? With one generator, you can protect up to 30 m of fence. Will I get an electric shock? Is it dangerous to my child or pet? No! Thanks to the low voltage concept at 9 V, contact is completely harmless. Will SnailStop kill the slugs? No! The slugs simply experience a slight tingling, which prompts them to move away. I have multiple raised beds. Do I need a kit for every raised bed? No! Thanks to the bed connector (Art. 291126), you can connect multiple beds with each other and only need one generator. Do both ends of the fence tape have to touch? (Closed circuit) No! You do not need to have a closed circuit with the fence tape. Do I have to stick on a new fence tape every year? No! The fence tape sticks permanently and reliably to almost every substrate, and can be used for several years. What do I do with SnailStop in winter? We recommend removing the device after the season and keeping it in a dry, frost-free place. The fence tape is stuck! Do I have to attach the fence connection clip to both ends of the fence tape? No! You can choose the position of the fence connection clip to suit your requirements. The 10 m fence tape in the starter kit is not sufficient for my needs. Do I have to buy a second kit now? No! The fence tape is available separately as an accessory in 10 m and 20 m lengths. I have damaged the fence tape. Do I have to start again? No! With the fence tape connector (Art. 291127), you can repair damaged areas.
